RESEARCHERS
Measurement of physical activity and dietary intake in children using self-report recall questionnaire methods can be labour intensive and monotonous for both participants and researchers and also tend to focus on either dietary intake or physical activity.

The internet based software, the Synchronised Nutrition & Activity Program (SNAPTM) was developed to produce a novel, simple, quick and engaging method internet assessment of energy balance related behaviours (dietary intake and physical activity) in children at a group level.

The SNAPTM software combines principles from new and existing 24 hour recall methodologies and sets them within a user-friendly interface that children between the ages of 7 and 16 can easily use. A description of the initial validation work has been published in the British Journal of Nutrition.
